在杜拜搭計程車通常會有以下對話:

Scenario 1

Me: Please take me to "Emirates Stars Hotel"

Driver: Yes yes no problem (Heavy Indian accent)

10 minutes later I ended up outside "Emirates Towers Hotel"

Me: Excuse me this is not the right place! I told you Emirates Starts Hotel

Driver: No no, you told me Emirates Towers Hotel, I told you Emirates Towers Hotel and you said yes

Me: I said yes to Emirates Stars Hotel! not this place

Driver: ok ok I take you to Emirates Stars Hotel now

10 min later I finally got to my hotel and the meter was double than the normal rate I would pay

Driver: Its 60 dirham

Me: No no you took me to the wrong place Im not paying for the first 10 mins

Driver: No you pay me now! you told me Emirates Tower Hotel you said I don't care its not my problem you pay me now!

10 mins later after all the argument back and forth I paid 60 dirham because I was fed up sitting in the taxi arguing.....

Senario 2

Me: Please take me to "Emirates Stars Hotel" in Qusais, Bandad Rd, on the way to Sharja besides Sahara Mall. (這次我學乖了, 給了他5個 landmarks, 不會再走錯地方了吧)

Driver: Ok ok no problem (印度腔)

15 min later in the taxi wondering if its me or the taxi driver because the streets outside were not the ones I usualy see on my way home so I suspected that the driver had taken me around and around or took me on the long way

Me: Hey this is not the way! you took me around the long way!! you very bad

Driver: No no this not the long way, this the faster way, the other way lots of  traffic this way no traffic!

Me: No no you lie! I know the way.(pissed and sat back looking really pissed)

Driver said nothing and 10 min after I was at my hotel

Me: You took me the long way, you should give me discount

Driver: No no long way, it was the short way (short way? how come I pay more than I usually pay then?)

10 min in the taxi after, I paid him in full and left because I really didn't want to sit there and argue with him over 5 dirham for 10 mins...

Senario 3

Me: Please take me to Emirates Stars Hotel

Driver: no problem no problem

2 min later he started making phone calls to his friends asking for directions (in Indian or whatever language I don't understand). I could hear him mentioned my hotel and the name of the area so I knew he didn't know the way and was asking for directions.

Me: I know the way I will show you ok..

Driver: you know the way?...ok you show me

10 mins later he was driving on the right way but he just had to test if I REALLY know the way by missing a right turn right before my hotel, so he went straight and obviously wanted to go the long way again so he can make some extra money

Me: HEY!!! you should turn right here!! I told you I know the way you very bad, you are taking me the long way

Driver: Oh oh...........er.....this way is short way.....er.....this way take you back to hotel also

Me: I told you I know the way, if you turn right and go straight then hotel is just in front of us! you give me discount!!

Driver: Ok ok

2 mins later I got to my hotel

Driver: its 27.80 dirham

Me: where is the discount?

Driver: er.....yeah ok 27 dirham then

Me: @X&*)%$! 吐血昏倒.......

Moral of the story is......buy a car in Dubai and get yourself away from taxies ASAYC

    我真的也快瘋了
    很難招到計程車就算了
    招到了還不知道地點在哪裡
    即使知道也會故意走錯路
    然後就要繞好大一圈
    真的很圈圈差差

    感覺那裡的司機就是硬要A錢啊
    連不認識路都還想A錢..真的很強..哈
